E-Bike Policy

Due to the rapid growth of electric bike (e-bike) ownership and the wide variety of systems and components on the market, our ability to service all e-bikes is limited.

At this time, we DO service:
• Standard bicycles (all types)
• Aventon e-bikes purchased from us
• Basic mechanical repairs on some e-bikes (case-by-case)

We DO NOT service:
• Electrical system issues (motors, wiring, controllers)
• E-bikes purchased online or from big-box retailers with non-supported components
• Battery diagnostics, repair, or modification

This is due to:
• Safety concerns (high-voltage systems)
• Manufacturer restrictions
• Lack of available parts or diagnostic tools for certain brands

We understand this may be frustrating, and we’re always happy to:
• Take a quick look and let you know if we can help
• Recommend next steps when possible

I’m Michael Hullinger, founder of West Plains Bike Shop. I’m a child of the KING, husband, and dad to four. I love spending time with my family and my community, and bicycles play an important role in that. My family started WPBS in 2019 to help serve and grow the West Plains biking community. In the same year I attended Barnett Bicycle Institute (home of the 14,000 page bicycle repair manual!) to strengthen my mechanical skills.
